Deal with care of neonates and children up to adolescence, usually in an in-patient hospital or day-clinic. Paediatric Nurses may also assist pediatricians or work alongside them whilst providing care to the children.

The philosophy of care is based on the belief that care directed to the individual, family and the group contributes to the health care of population as a whole. The community health nurse is not restricted to the care of a particular age or diagnostic group.
